Expanding Offshore Helicopter Operator – Africa
Our client is a well-established helicopter operator based in Africa that focuses predominantly on offshore operations, along with governmental and other services, to nations across the region.
The business has a mixed fleet of aircraft for the various operations they conduct providing specialist services.
The Situation & Assignment
The business had won multiple new contracts within the offshore and VVIP sector and required numerous EASA B1.3 / B2 Rotary engineers on the AW139 that could be used across multiple locations, alongside managerial positions including Technical Services Director and Director of Quality and safety.
We identified that a proactive headhunting approach and the utilisation of our extensive network would give us the most likely outcome for success.
The Process
The brief for this project was very specific and the detailed proactive approach we take to every assignment gave us the confidence to find suitable candidates for all positions. Once we had identified shortlists, we worked closely with our client to arrange interviews in multiple time zones and to strict deadlines.
One of the more challenging roles included very specific language requirements, narrowing down an already tight candidate pool further.
Geographical challenges, set rotations and working conditions all added to the challenges of the project, however with an international network and in-depth knowledge of our clients requirements and needs we were able to find our client the candidates they needed.
The End Result
We successfully recruited 9/10 engineering positions and all three senior management roles which equated to a 94% success rate for this recruitment drive, saving our client significant time and money.
As a consequence, our client has been able to operate at full capacity and honour their contract in the region. This success has also allowed them to start looking into various other tender opportunities.
Building On The Relationship
Upon the success of this recruitment drive, we met with the key shareholders to establish how we can support the business moving forward.
As a result, we have been given access to further ground and flight deck roles and will support them in all regions where, and when, new tenders are won.
